Access to Basic Orientation Plus® (BOP) has grown across the Gulf Coast in 2026, giving industry more opportunities to train workers closer to where they live and work.
BOP returned to Southeast Texas in January with the opening of Alliance Safety Council’s Nederland training center at 1019 Nederland Ave. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the instructor-led BOP being streamed at 7:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
In July, Alliance increased BOP availability in Southwest Louisiana when its Sulphur training operations moved to a larger facility at 3641 S. Beglis Parkway. The training center features a 50-seat computer lab and 20-seat classroom. It’s open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the instructor-led BOP being streamed at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“With convenient training locations in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, multiple delivery methods and 24/7 online access, industry has greater flexibility to provide workers with reciprocal BOP training,” said Kathy Trahan, president/CEO of Alliance Safety Council.
The Value of True Reciprocity
For nearly 30 years, Alliance has administered the BOP and BOP Refresher, helping industry reduce unnecessary duplication of training for workers moving between participating facilities.
True reciprocity allows workers to complete standardized training recognized across facilities rather than repeating comparable orientations from jobsite to jobsite. Accepted at hundreds of facilities, BOP provides a consistent training standard supported by third-party oversight.

Training Flexibility
BOP Reimagined offers multiple delivery methods to accommodate workforce needs and operational demands:
Instructor-Led: In-person classroom sessions are guided by expert facilitators who bring real-world safety experience to life. This traditional approach creates a collaborative environment where learners can ask questions and engage directly.
In-Lab: Learners can train at their own pace in a distraction-free environment. Alliance’s staff proctors these sessions in person and is available to assist with any technical needs to ensure smooth progress from start to finish.
Online: Available anytime, anywhere, 24/7/365, online delivery gives industry greater flexibility to accommodate workforce schedules and training needs.
