Accessing BOP Remotely Proctored

How do I access BOP online?

There are two options:

  • Company-Issued Login: Your admin will give you login credentials. You’ll be asked for your SSN or training ID to attach the training record to your student profile. LMS Login
  • Individual Login: Visit Guest LMS Login to create your own account.

What if I used individual login but need my record linked to my hiring company?

Call 877-345-1253, email info@alliancesafetycouncil.org, or use the chat on alliancesafetycouncil.org.

Privacy & Data Security

What personal information is collected?

Only your name, email and one image are retained if session rules are followed.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Pyvot Verify runs ID checks on your device, ensuring data never leaves it.

How long is my training record kept?

  • OSHA requirement: 3 years
  • LMS retention: 10 years
Training Records & Badges

Will BOP Remotely Proctored show on my training badge?

Yes, under “reciprocal training” on both physical and digital badges.

How do I get a badge if I complete training with remote proctoring?

You’ll receive a digital badge (print/email/text). Physical badges can be picked up at any Safety Council location for free.

I took Basic Orientation Plus at a different safety council and it is not showing in my training history. How do I get my training history transferred?

Please call 877-345-1253 to have your training record transferred into the Alliance Safety Council Learning Management System.

Remote Proctoring & Identity Verification

What do I need for remote proctoring?

  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Device with a camera (computer preferred for best user experience)
  • Active email
    Note: On iOS, use Safari (Chrome not supported).
  • Distraction-free learning environment

What’s being monitored during training?

  • ID match – Does the name and person in the training session match the name on the ID?
  • Face remains visible – Does the verified participant remain visible for the duration of the training session?
  • No distractions or external resources – Does the verified participant complete the training session without distraction or the use of any external resources?
  • Active participation – Does the verified participant remain actively engaged and participate in the entire training session?

What if my name doesn’t match my ID?

The Alliance Safety Council support team will review and resolve ID/name mismatches. This may require direct communication with the student and the student’s admin.

Can I wear hearing aids?

Yes.

Will I be notified after completing proctoring?

Yes. You’ll get an email if the training session cannot be validated for any reason. If your ID isn’t clear, you may be asked to resubmit it. If your session was validated and you earned a passing grade, the training will notate a passing score and show a green dot in your training history.  

Can I stop during a module?

No. You must complete training in one sitting.

Do I have to accept all cookies?

Yes, you can access your Cookie Declaration from the lower left-hand corner of the LMS login page. Your current status should read Allow All. You can change your consent by clicking “change your consent” in blue text. A cookie declaration will pop-up. Please choose “Allow All”.  

What happens if I fail proctoring?

You’ll be allowed up to 2 attempts per day. Customer support reviews all failures and can override if appropriate.

Training Details

How long is BOP?

  • Virtual BOP:  Approximately 3 hours
  • Instructor-led: Approximately 4 hours

Does BOP expire?

Yes, annually. You cannot wait more than 4 years before retaking the full BOP.

Do I need to be registered for Basic Orientation Plus/BOP Refresher Remotely Proctored?

No. Remotely delivered training does not require an admin to register you.

What if I fail the exam?

You can retake the entire course up to 2 times per day.

Are external resources allowed?

No. You cannot use extra devices or materials.

Is BOP offered in Spanish?

Yes – both online and instructor-led.

What’s the passing score?

70% per module. You must pass all modules individually.

Will I be quizzed during training?

Yes, scenario-based questions follow each module in the remote version. In instructor-led, testing is done in the lab.

What’s the best browser to use?

Google Chrome (unless using iOS – then use Safari).

Reciprocity & Prerequisites

I have SAF Basic. Do I need BOP?

No. SAF Basic is equivalent and allows you to take the BOP Refresher.

Who accepts BOP Remotely Proctored?

Acceptance varies per site. Check with your site admin or visit: Accepting Sites

I already have Safety Essentials. Do I need BOP?

Site requirements depend on the site. Confirm with your contractor administrator.

Troubleshooting

I launched the course but only see a blue circle spinning in a box that says Verify Your Identity.

Make sure you have accepted all website cookies. Start training with a new, updated browser and clear your cache. This should be the only tab open.

Accepting Cookies in iLevel

If this is your first time visiting training.ilevel.org, Cookiebot consent window will pop-up. Please select “allow all”. To change your consent:

1. Open “Cookie Declaration” found in blue text in the lower left-hand corner next to Privacy Policy.
2. Select “Change your consent” in blue text.
3. Select “Allow All” in the Cookiebot pop-up.

Clearing Your Cache

To clear browsing cookies, open your browser's settings, navigate to privacy or security, and then select "Clear browsing data" or a similar option, choosing to delete cookies and other site data

Here's a more detailed breakdown for some popular browsers:  

Google Chrome (Desktop): 

  1. Open Chrome and click the three dots (More) in the top right corner.
  2. Select "More tools" and then "Clear browsing data".
  3. Choose a time range (e.g., "Last hour," "Last 24 hours," "All time").
  4. Make sure "Cookies and other site data" is checked and uncheck other items if you don't want to delete them.
  5. Click "Clear data".   

Google Chrome (Android):  

  1. Open Chrome and tap the three dots (More) in the top right corner.
  2. Tap "Settings".
  3. Tap "Privacy and security" and then "Delete browsing data".
  4. Choose a time range.
  5. Check "Cookies and site data" and uncheck other items if you don't want to delete them.

Mozilla Firefox (Desktop):   

  1. Open Firefox and click the three lines (Menu) in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Settings".
  3. Click "Privacy & Security".

Safari (iOS/iPadOS): 

  1. Go to Settings > Safari.

  1. Open Edge and click the three dots (More) in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Settings".
  3. Click "Privacy, search, and services".
  4. In the "Clear browsing data" section, click "Choose what to clear".
  5. Under "Time range", choose a time range.
  6. Select "Cookies and other site data" and then select "Clear now". 

 

I paused the training and walked away. My computer timed out and I was marked as failed.

The BOP/BOP Refresher remotely proctored must be taken in one sitting. You cannot pause the course and leave the training without failing.

My status has a K next to it. How do I fix that?

K status indicates the training is in progress (if you closed the course before completing the full training session or require a support member to review your proctoring status). You won’t be in this status for long.
