Overview

This two-day course will equip the new supervisor with skills such as safety messaging, leading with purpose, resolving conflict, and more. Participants will learn what safety means to the frontline supervisor and how to craft and communicate the safety message to others. This course is ideal for frontline supervisors in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting. Historically, these workers have risen through the ranks and now formally or informally lead or supervise others.

Students in this course will learn how to:
1. Use relationships with the rest of the team to motivate and increase efficiency and productivity.
2. Have difficult conversations that result in resolution, consensus, and trust.
3. Create, maintain, and reinforce safe workplace practices to ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
4. Create effective leadership strategies for the workplace, including influencing without authority and having managerial courage.
5. Develop clear communication strategies for leading a team, including giving effective feedback and setting clear expectations.
