Overview

The Shintech VCM Unit Orientation was developed by the Safety Council for Shintech Louisiana, LLC Vinyl Chloride.

The purpose of the program is to provide valuable safety guidelines for working with Vinyl Chloride.

The program is divided into four separate sections:

  • General Safety
  • Properties of Vinyl Chloride
  • Health Hazards
  • Release Prevention and Detection
NOTE: Anyone entering Shintech's Addis or Plaquemine Sites to perform work must take the Basic Orientation Plus or Refresher (12BR or 12BR1), Shintech Site Orientation (1268SHN), HAZWOPER First Responder Awareness (Level 1) (12SAFHZ1), and the Shintech VCM Unit Orientation (12SHVCM). Without the successful completion of these courses, you will be denied entry into the facilities.
