OSHA 500 - Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry
Overview
A written examination is given at the conclusion of the course. Successful completion of the course and the final examination allows the participant to be recognized as an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry.
This course is provided by the Mid-South OTI Education Center. Minimum Contact Hours: 26 hours
Construction industry outreach trainers must take OSHA 502 every four years to maintain their status as an outreach trainer.

Prerequisites:
OSHA #510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction taken within the last 7 (seven) years and five (5) years of construction safety experience. A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in occupational safety and health or industrial hygiene from an accredited college or university, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation may be substituted for a total of two (2) years of experience. Authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program trainers are required to attend OSHA #502 Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers at least once every four (4) years to maintain their trainer status. You must submit a Prerequisite Verification Form and a photo of your Government-Issued ID with your registration at least 7 calendar days prior to the start date.
