Alliance Safety Council offers 24-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training that meets or exceeds the requirements set forth in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Participants will receive training through lectures, skills demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises. Topics will include hazard recognition, personal safety, risk assessment techniques, decontamination, and standard operating procedures. Participants will gain an understanding of the proper selection and use of personal protective equipment for the operations level responder/team member to include Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. Upon completion, participants will have demonstrated competency in basic control, containment, and/or confinement operations within the capabilities of the resources and personal protective equipment available within the unit. They will also have demonstrated the proper selection and implementation of basic decontamination procedures.

Important: Due to the use of air-supplying respirators, students will be required to present a valid fit test for SCOTT or MSA along with a signed indemnification agreement during the registration process.
